Saying that I am proud of where I stand, it would be an understatement. To say I am excited, that would be a false statement. Their really is no words to describe how I’m feeling these days; and these pictures are proof. Let me first fill you in on a little back-story about why this weight loss journey means so much to me, besides the obvious.
…I’m not telling you it’s going to be easy, I’m telling you it’s going to be worth it
I’ve lost weight before, believe it or not my lightest would be back in October 2007 when the scale read 160.6 lbs. This was pre-baby, pre-marriage, pre-real-life-stuff. I lost the weight by following a diet routine called Sure Slim and if I can be completely honest I absolutely HATED IT. Was not happy with the food I was required to eat, did not care for the weekly meetings, and over-all I was unhappy; but looking back at those images now I am in awe. Not because I was so much smaller than today, but because in October of 2007 I thought I was still fat! I was 20 lbs lighter than I am today and deep deep down these accomplishment never registered. I did not see a different reflection in the mirror, I still felt I needed work, yet today when I look in the mirror all I see is beauty.
The past 7 years have obviously done me some good. My minds state of beauty have changed, my ideal has gone from magazine to real life and for this I am proud. Proud of the myself for coming all this way and realizing just how much this body of mine has actually done for me. Being grateful for getting me this far in life, providing me the strength to get up each and everyday, to carry a baby for 9 months, to naturally give birth, to go without sleep for nearly a year and still, it looks THIS GOOD. I am grateful for my body, exactly the way it looks today!

DIET UPDATE :: Met with my naturopath yesterday and nothing with my diet routine has changed. Just as last week, I will be switching between protein and protein and vegetable days. Still consuming 3 liters of water a day and also my Goji Berries. As for fitness level, I should be increasing my daily routine to 30 minutes a day, however I find I am still looking for a perfect fit on an xbox 360 Fitness Game. Suggestions are welcome!
I can’t tell you enough how stoked I am that we’ve added veggies to the mix, boy does this change the game. I’m talking crunchy romaine lettuce, creamy artichokes, salted edamame and butternut squash fries baby! Oh how good they’ve been tasting when you haven’t had them in so stinkin’ long. Seriously so good. Lindsay and I are playing around with many options of how to really spice up our vegetable days, with the most recent of Butternut Squash French Fries. We’ve made WHOOPI PIES and CARROT CAKE CUPCAKES {yes my friends this deserves all caps}, and oh-em-gee they are divine! I will be sharing recipes as we have success with them. Stay tuned as next as I’m hoping to update you all on some of the recipes we’ve been living off of including a rundown of the Dukan Diet from start to finish.
WEIGH IN :: as of Monday, I am down 14.1 lbs which mean I and now only 35.9 lbs away from my goal of losing 50 lbs; considering only 22 days have passed since taking the Dukan Diet pledge, I would say I’m a freakin’ monster! Feeling good about this journey and feeling even even more grateful to say that I am doing it with my best friend Lindsay. 2014 is our year, WE GOT THIS!

I’m so inspired and I’m trying to be good and slow down on my snacking and start exercising more. Congrats mama!!
Congrats to you! You are doing awesome! We have to train our minds to not see ‘fat’ every time we look in the mirror, once the fat is gone. I look back at pics of me when I was younger and thought that I was fat and I wasn’t fat at all.
You go girl! Amazing results. You are inspiring. I hear so much of myself in your story. Go get it!
