We heard about Nk’Mip RV Park from my parents who seemed to have stumbled across it all on mistake. It will forever go down as the best mishap ever if you ask me. Nk’Mip RV Park has made our top 3 sites we’ve stayed at in British Columbia. And if you don’t already know about it, you really need to change that.
This place is not only a campground, but it has a cantina, a winery, cultural centre, desert spa and riding stable. And that’s not even all of it!
While you may think this is what makes it one of our favorite camping spots in British Columbia, its not. It’s location. You are literally on Lake Osoyoos, the warmest lake in Canada. This is why it ranks in our top 3 favorite spots.
ABOUT NK’MIP RV PARK
You may feel as though the trek out to Nk’Mip RV Park is long. I will not disagree with you one bit. That drive with children is not only long but excruciating should you not plan ahead.
It takes 5 hours from Vancouver but should you plan ahead and figure you’ll make a few pit-stops along the way, you should be golden. Download all of the shows and movies on Disney+, put that subscription you pay for each month to good use. Oh! and snacks. Don’t forget the car snacks.
Nk’Mip RV Park has so much to offer families. From lakeside camping to onsite playgrounds, boat rentals, hiking, horseback riding. Honestly the skies the limit. Your only concern is making sure you get ENOUGH time there to do it all, I suggest at least 5 days.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM NK’MIP RV PARK
Nk’Mip RV Park is open year-round, offering campers more lakefront, beach access and view sites than any other park in the Okanagan. How’s that for facts?!
The resort boasts RV sites both full and partial hook-up (on the water, near the water and garden sites), tenting sites, and cabins. Honestly this campground has a site that will keep every family member happy. And if your kids are anything like ours, born a child but fish at heart, then no doubt this will be their favorite campground ever. Providing you’re not only on the lake, but they also have an indoor pool and hot tub.
Nk’Mip Campground and RV Park offers so many amenities for families, but here are just a few I found most impressive::
- Beach Cantina (bar/restaurant)
- Private Boat Dock & Marina
- Convenience Store
- Desert Cultural Centre
- Playground
- Watersport Rentals
- Free Wifi
- Riding Stable
- Indoor Pool (October – May)
- Solterra Desert Spa
- Winery
- Golf Course
While one may contest this is not a campground because of all the luxuries it offers, I beg to differ. I look at this as more of a full-service camping resort for those that enjoy nature, wine, and massages, all in one weekend.
Tell me that doesn’t sounds dreamy?!
THINGS TO DO AROUND NK’MIP RV PARK
If you find the time to leave the resort (good luck) I would love to make a few little recommendations. I found 2 places that were worth mentioning that I feel were a must do if you ventured into town.
Rattlesnake Canyon: located minutes from Nk’Mip RV Park this little amusement park is the perfect spot for families young and old. They have mini golf, go-karts, an arcade, bumper boats, a tumble whirl, tornado, bungee tree, rock climbing wall and honestly so much more. We popped in and spent a few hours there with the girls who refused to leave the go-karts. So if I may, do that last.
Home Hardware: I bet you’re thinking this is a weird suggestion for a “must do” while visiting Nk’Mip. Let me tell you, give yourself at least 2 hours to get through this whole store. I didn’t make my way through the first time and had to come a second day. TWIST MY ARM. This store is MIND BLOWING! Just take my word for it and go – you won’t be disappointed.
OUR FINAL THOUGHTS ON NK’MIP RV PARK
I think it’s fair to say Nk’Mip RV Park was easily one of our favorite trips made this camping season so far. With so much to see and do in and around the campground – it’s no wonder people love this spot.
If you get the chance to reserve a site at this campground, I highly recommend getting a lake side spot. It doesn’t get any better than that. Bring your kayaks and paddle boards and get out on that lake! Don’t have one? Rent one locally with South Delta Watersports like we did and bring it with you.
You’re going to want to be on the water anytime you’re not roasting a marshmallow on the fire. Take my word for it!

Did you come here for camping content? We’re sharing our camping experiences, good or bad, on the site in hopes to inspire others to get out and make the most of their travels. These last 2 years have not been the easiest on us, we all deserve a little break (from reality).
We have reviewed Riverside Campground in Whistler, Camperland RV Resort in Rosedale (Bridal Falls) and Gallagher Lake in Oliver. And if you are looking for some fun new campfire recipes, check out this little vlog where we cooked cinnamon buns on a stick over an open fire.
We’re planning on sharing many more of our camping trips on the site, including a 17-day roadtrip through the Oregon Coast. Stay tuned for that!
