We wanted big bubbles, but instead got human-sized bubbles with this bubble recipe. Who knew! Pinterest knew; that’s who!
When you find a Pinterest Bubble Recipe that has been pinned more times that you have blinked in your life. You trust it’s going to do what it says and make HUGE BUBBLES!
Stumbled on this recipe this Summer and the girls begged me to try it out. They wanted a day of bubble making and that’s exactly what they got. We made the homemade bubbles bright and early as they required a 3 hour rest before using. While we waited, we made really simple DIY Bubble Wands. While I almost gagged making them (video evidence above) it made for many laughs around the table.
HOMEMADE BUBBLE RECIPE
- 6 cups Water
- 1/2 cup Dawn Dish Soap (blue)
- 1/2 cup Corn Starch
- 1 tbsp Baking Powder
- 1 tbsp Glycerin
(original recipe via Happy Holligans)
While you mix everything together, made note that you want to be gentile so to not create bubbles in the solution. Let it sit for 2 to 3 hours, stirring every so often to ensure the corn starch or baking powder doesn’t sit at the bottom.
While it took us a little while to learn the ropes (no pun intended). Were happy to share them with you, saving you all some time. Watch the video and make notes of our tips on how to get the BIGGEST BUBBLES out of this bubble recipe. They’re simple to do, we’re just taking the whole trial and error out of the equation for you. You’re welcome!
