Nearly Wordless Wednesday; it was our 7th annual Chosen Family Christmas Party this past weekend and I’ve learnt 3 very important lessons. 1, our house is just not big enough to host 20 people without someone getting hurt. 2, when hosting a party that involves 10 kids past their regular bedtime, chocolate treats paired with hot chocolate and chocolate covered popcorn is too much. And 3, I got the best friends in the whole wide world!
What started out as a Christmas Party for 5 couples and 1 infant, has now grown to 5 couples and their 10 kids. What was once an easy and relaxing event over the Holidays, is now a wild, crazy and hilarious attempt to connect with great friends during Christmas. It more like us running around feeding mini mouth, making sure nobody gets hurt, yelling over the noise “so, how’s Christmas shopping going?” while making yourself a plate of food that you will eat while standing up.
All joking aside, it was awesome. Laughs were had, food was savored, gifts exchanged, hugs were given, love was felt… what more could we want?
