…I would like to thank my family for always standing behind me, and cheering me on as I ate the 2 slices of bon-bon cake on father’s day. My subconscious that insured me I deserved the additional treats through out the week; and the wonderful woman at the grocery store who gave me a kit-kat “on the house” to congratulate me on the weight loss.
DIET UPDATE :: I gained 0.8lbs this week and while I accept this deserved reward, I feel unimpressed with myself and very disappointed. Okay enough with the pitty-party, it wasn’t all sadness when I went and saw Dr. Natalie today. NOPE. After walking into her office I spilt the beans about all the horrible things I got up to over the past week, and her exact words were “okay, okay, okay, let’s see what damage you did, maybe it’s not all that bad”. Stood on the scale and she took a gain like champ, Natalie still hopeful that we would see good news on the inside of my body. She hooks me up to her fancy computer and out comes a reading…
Naturally I was analyzing her reactions as the report printed, line by line, but they were hard to understand; an angry frown, then eye brow lifts, and some bobbing of the head. At no point did steam come from her ears nor did her face turn white, it couldn’t have been all that bad I thought. She un-hooks me and says to me “you need not worry, we have some good news”, and with that into her office we went. I tell her that in hopes to counteract the sweets I over-indulged in, I had jogged 3 times that week, and oddly enough she knew this. Although I had nearly a pound gain, my numbers are showing still fat lost but muscle gained. Mmmmmm interesting!
Dr. Natalie went on to explain that although she does not condone me to cheat like this in such an important phase, she reminded me life will go back to normal soon enough, stay with it, be strict with yourself and get this part of the diet complete. I agree completely, I let myself go for a few nights last week and it showed. Not just in the numbers on the scale, but in my heart; utter dissapointment.
She wrote out a cleanse she wanted me to start today, scheduled our next appointment, and off I went. All in all it was a good wake up call for me, I need to get back on the healthy-horse and get serious like in the past 46 days prior. Celebrations with cake and sweets can wait, right now we focus on getting to my goal wait and then properly and safely reintroduce grains, carbs, fruit and sugars. I can do this! I got this!
RECIPE :: As I mentioned, Natalie put me on a soup cleanse, not like one you’ve heard of before. It’s a vegetable base soup that I am to eat on my protein and vegetable days, as much or as little as I want, until the pot I made is gone. She suspects it will last me the week. It’s really quite simple;
Take 1/2 head of cabbage, 1 celery root, 2 red peppers, 1 large onion, 4 heads of garlic, 4 tomatoes, and 2 carrots. Throw them all in a pot, fill with water until almost covered and simmer on low for an hour or two. Puree and enjoy. Hoping to make it taste the best it ever could, I sauteed the onion and garlic first and then threw in the rest of the vegetables with water and let it simmer on low. I figured this way I MAY get some carmalization which would do more good than harm to a body of a soup. Had the soup once today, and the verdict, it’s better than I expected.

Good for you on your weightless journey. I read the recipe for the soup and it is very similar to the cabbage soup diet I did like 10 years ago… I think I may have to give it another go!. Thanks for the update.
You are doing amazing, girl! We all have our moments. You handled it well and I’m sure you came out even more motivated! It’s my birthday on Sunday and Dr. Som advised me “dont over do it”… I’m so scared lol. Good luck to all of us on our journeys! 😀
