As promised, another tea review, expect this time we are going with a GREEN TEA. I’m not gunna lie, we’re a black tea kid through-and-through. But I know I am a rare breed. I also know that I should be drinking more green tea, considering it has said to be the healthiness beverage on the planet.
Let’s get this tea review started…
Company: The Great Wall Tea Company
Tea Name: Organic Orange Jasmine
Type & Description: Green Tea
Organic Orange Jasmine is a mildly flavored green tea with jasmine and sweet orange peel. The mountainous green tea base is a white-tending, high quality leaf that offers an earthy contrast to the citrus and floral finish. Steeping time is quick (1-3 mins) and will offer a beautiful second steep.
Tea Origin: China
Today’s Tea Accompaniments: n/a
Tea Rating: Four (4)
5 for the best and 1 for the worst
Liquor Color: the color of the liquor is a beautiful yellowish-green.
Aroma: the moment you pour that water on those leaves, the scent will hit you. It’s extremely floral, yet soft and airy, not overpowering. It’s really the best way I can describe it. Made me a bit hesitant only because it’s so far from my “norm”, but I was in it for the review.
Taste: make note, we only steeped our tea for 1 minute. I was told the longer one steeped their green tea, the more bitter it could get. For that reason we chose to steep less. The tea was refreshing with both floral and citrus notes making themselves be known. It was good hot and I don’t doubt even better on ice.
For this black tea snob to enjoy a cuppa green tea, I’d say green tea lovers everywhere would be over the moon.
It’s pretty awesome when you find a tea company like The Great Wall Tea Company that knows a good tea when they taste it. They’re passionate about the leaf and you can tell in their teas.
