Hi, my name is Tairalyn, and I have a scotch tape obsession.
It’s funny, my parents used to say they should have bought stocks in scotch tape after they had me. All day everyday I would craft, and my first and only choice of sticking 2 compounds together, was good ‘ol scotch tape. It’s no news that I am 31 and still crafting my time away, less crazy for a grown woman to be making toilet paper dolls when she does it with her 3 year old daughter, and this is how I get away with it.
My newest obsession, art for grown ups. I am a glass bottle, toilet paper roll, scrap fabric, cardboard collector; all because I end up as a super-hero when we are stuck inside on rainy days. But I feel like I have more in me to give, artistically. I can make a damn good bird feeder from a milk carton, and I could probably even make a batch of playdoh with my eyes shut, but I know my potential is more. And this is why I booked my first private class at 4Cats Arts Studio. Myself, along with 11 of my favoritest people will paint our versions of Van Gogh’s Starry Night. The cost is $35 a person, I had 12 spots I could fill and we all walk out with a new piece of art for our homes. I mean seriously, it’s a win win; the ladies at 4Cats in Port Coquitlam, Marnie and Lisa, they’re so stinkin’ awesome, booking a private class just felt right.
Since the class is invite only, it means I can bring in food and beverages for everyone to savor and sip while we get our paint on. No better way in my mind than to start off 2015 with 1 artistic foot in front of the other. Who knows I may even make this a monthly event, and excuse every 30 days to see friends and let it all out… on canvas of course!
GO ON, YOU KNOW YOU WANNA
