YOU GUYS! We stayed in a Tiny House with our kids… we deserve a medal!
Where to begin?
If someone told me we’d be staying in a Tiny House, as a family, ON VACTION, I would’ve slapped them upside the head and called them crazy.
Last week we were on Spring Break here in Vancouver. We decided to take a roadtrip to the Oregon Coast as a family. The motto for this adventure was to create memories over bringing home material posessions. I would have to say we did exactly that.
While researching accommodations in Olympia, I stumbled across this adorable Airbnb Tiny House. It was not JUST a Tiny House, but it was a Tiny Home that came with goats for neighbors. Remeber when I said I wanted this trip to be all about expereinces and not collecting material things. Yeah! I booked it without thinking twice.
One thing we learned while staying in this Tiny House was that as a family we would make terrible farmers. If we were to ever care for our own livestock, I doubt they would last much more then 30 days. For we fed these goats more than they had ever eaten in their entire life during our stay.
We only stayed for 24 hours!
Any dreams we had of one day becoming a farming family have been squashed. It’s for the best, for farm animals everywhere.
I’m so excited to finally share with you our experience in Olympia’s cutest ever Tiny Home! Took me ages to edit, all thanks to a computer that has seen better days. And I only cried 4 times in the process (wish I was kidding). From the excitement in getting there, a much anticipated trip to Trader Joe’s, our SHOCKING initial reactions of the Tiny House and a much requested house tour.
If you’re thinking Tiny House living might be your thing, be sure to read our Tiny Home Hacks we shared earlier this week. We may have only stayed a short while, but goodness did we ever learn a lot.
