The green thumb label sadly is not engraved on my name plate. The gardener in our family is Sammy, and by gardener I mean numero uno plant whisperer. This guy I swear can grow pineapples in a Canadian winter; no word of a lie,Sammy OWNS his gardening title. Last year he surprised me with all that he planted, babied, and grew through out the spring, summer and into fall. This year he has done it again. Our garden is stocked and already budding with green leafy beauties and I cannot wait to get in our first crop.
This year Sammy has planted Potatoes {3 kinds}, Garlic, Rosemary, Green Onions, Peas, Green Beans, Artichokes, Tomatoes {4 kinds}, Carrots, Lettuce {2 kinds}, Edemame, Brussel Spouts, Strawberries, Blueberries, Pumpkins {2 kinds}, Butternut Squash, Zucchini, Cauliflower, Red and Green Peppers, and Rhubarb. Maybe I’m missing out on a few, but seriously, this man is amazing! Our fridge, our counters, and our tummy’s will soon be loaded with garden goodness; and I for one cannot wait.
Does your family garden; and what do you most look forward to eating from it?
Do you also find your picky eaters are far more adventurous in eating something that he/she picked?
Wow! You guys really expanded your gardening space! I’m really impressed with the artichokes. I heard it’s hard to grow so you’ll have to tell me how it turns out =)
