I love to shop, this is no surprise here, and when I can manage to combine both shopping and supporting local businesses the excitement level goes almost near embarrassing. There is something that feels so good about knowing where your money is going after you’ve made the purchase. Better yet, handing your money to the person who actually put the time and love into making each item. I love it! I love nothing more!
This is why Coquitlam’s Christmas Farmers Market means so much, I have a chance to not only check items off my list of gifts to buy, but also getting those feel good feelings from supporting local businesses. For me a Christmas Farmers Market screams STOCKING STUFFER CENTRAL. The idea of being able to one stop shop for Sammy’s entire stocking is music to my ears, and a whole lotta’ extra time for me to kick my feet up and enjoy another Eggnog latte.
SIDE STORY: I’m going to throw myself under the bus here a little and say just how embarrassed I am for having turned up my nose at them in the past. Why have I never tried a Starbucks Eggnog Latte for my whole 32 years in existence? *hanging my head in shame* Here’s for many late night trips to Starbucks making it up for lost time together this Christmas!
For me, a Christmas Farmers Market is a better version of shopping the malls this Christmas. Local shop owners (list of shops here), friendly customer service, great prices and not having to find yourself on a mall directory map is always a good thing.
