We’ve been living in our home nearly 7 years and this wall has looked the same ever since the day we signed papers. Not something I care to own up to, but it terrifies me on two serious levels. One, it’s huge (stating a fact here people) which means it requires big ideas and whatever I do will make a big impact on the entire space – that’s frightening. And two, I’ve recently learnt I have some rather serious commitment issues when it comes to making things in my home permanent. I like to be able to change things up in my home when it comes to decor (all you smarty-pants who see this as a control issue are probably right, I’ll be the first to admit). So a simple phrase like “have you ever thought of a built-in unit in the space” or “that could easily be done, putting it up using exposed heavy duty wall anchors”; these phrases really just push me deeper into my cave of comfort and the current state of this wall will be a thing of the future. That’s not good, we don’t want that, and this is something I’m working on.
Yesterday, when I reach out on social media I asked you for some insight on the space giving you little info on my two minor hang-ups (see above), and you guys came through in a big way. Loads of great suggestions and tons of photo inspiration, seriously you guys! I have major love for you, more than you’ll ever know. I really want to dig deep for this project and bring the main living area of our home together with this fall feature. I think you guys did it, you gave me the push I needed, the inspiration I needed to commit to an idea, and the drive to tackle this long coming project once and for all. JUST WAIT until you see what I have in mind, thanks to one of your recommendations on Facebook!
