Crafts that are as fun to shop for as they are to make are some of my favorites. Combine my love of shopping for my DIY obsession and you have the perfect equation for a day spent with my little one.
Sofia and I have a flat of Mason Jars that have been calling our names for months, and last week we had about enough; it was time to get creative. Her and I popped out to our local dollar store and pet supply store and picked up all we needed to make a mason jar pet. We left the house wanting our newest member of the family to be a humped back whale (as per Sofia’s request) but fell in love with this little turtle instead. Sofia said he whispered her name and asked to be taken home. So we changed the plans just slightly and our newest (most easiest) pet we welcome to our home is this adorable little turtle.
He only moves around when we are asleep (so I’ve been told), we feed him once a day (with sand pebbles) and his tank needs to be cleaned NEVER. Have I told you how much I love this new pet of ours.
TODDLERS DELIGHT; this craft is beyond simple and so much fun to just let the babes take control. Give them all they need to make their tanks and let them go wild. Sofia is so proud of her’s, she even mentioned the other day how good her turtle keeping skills were, because you know it’s hard work caring for a plastic pet.
I’m slightly obsessed with these kinds of crafts, they lend so much imagination for these babes and this is really what childhood is all about isn’t it? Check out our Pinterest Boards and let’s play pin together!
I want to make this… and I’m 26! Beautiful project, thanks for sharing!
DO IT Carmia! I bet it would look beautiful in a bathroom or even a bedside table 🙂
