Tell me you know the feeling? Your favorite reality series have come to an end (Big Brother Canada), your favorite new comedy series got cancelled (Grandfathered), you can’t figure out what’s going on with your other classic comedy series (New Girl) and your PVR is full to the brim with things that make you contemplate just calling it a night and going to bed at 8pm (Pawn Stars, Doc McStuffin and Napkin Man).
So when good TV fails me, I have Netflix! Who knew the comfort of TV anytime, anywhere, would be a security blanket for me. Who am I kidding, I knew… I knew since shows like Saved by the Bell had me running home from school, or Full House had me setting the dinner table at top speeds, and let’s not forget about Friends which made all the high-school drama bearable. I don’t need TV, but no doubt I find great comfort in watching a feel good show that will remove me from the woes of real life and take me away for 30 minutes. AM I RIGHT?
So when all else fails… I turn to Netflix! This past month has been all about catching up on my favorite Netflix series (check and check) and finding new ones to start (check, check, check and check). All came as great recommendations from friends and so far so good; last night we started with Drop Dead Diva and let’s just say I was hooked from the trailer.
Drop Dead Diva
When beautiful but shallow model-wannabe Deb dies in a car accident, her soul resurfaces in the person of Jane, a queen-size attorney who is brilliant and well-liked … or the exact opposite of Deb. Now, by a twist of fate, Deb must come to terms with inhabiting Jane’s curvier frame in an ultimate showdown between brains and beauty.
…when we need a little mixing in the evening Netflix schedule we will turn to the other three highly recommended shows; Cooked, Grace and Frankie and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Did I miss out on any good ones? I’ve got a good month before any of my regular programming is coming back, I could use a bit more variety if you are willing to share!
We’re so thrilled to be apart of Netflix’s Stream Team, bringing you fun content for the site partnered with Netflix Canada over the course of the year. If you’re at all curious about anything Netflix, which series will continue another season, new movies that are being released or even about subscriptions, please don’t hesitate to ask! I’ll do all I can to help get them answered.
