I don’t get out often, SERIOUSLY, I don’t, but when I do lots of planning is involved and the excitement drives me until my next outing. Motherhood has made it a little difficult to “hit the town”, not that I am complaining in any way shape or form, I’m just stating a fact; and I’m sure I’m not alone in making it either. Girls nights are also not what they used to be, in fact , they’re way better. Perfectly planned and right on point with what my body and soul is craving.
A few months back I came up with the creative idea *pun intended* of planning an art class with some of my favorite girls. I chose a date that was clear in my calendar, a painting that inspired me, and the planning was underway. I reached out to a handful of girls I knew would love and appreciate a night out, and from there the excitement grew 10 fold. A private class of this nature at the 4Cats Art Studio can host 10-12 people, however our group sat perfectly at 8 for the night. The class started at 6:30pm and we all brought a little something to share, naturally I brought tea and sour keys, because of course. We got started with a fun and education story about Mr. Van Gogh thanks to Marnie who was our teacher for the night, and then this is when we got started on our canvases. She directed us each step of the way as we painted our own personal starry night pieces; some ladies chose to be inspired by his image while other, including myself, chose to replicate it.
I honestly don’t think I could have asked for a more perfect night out, was exactly what I needed; the perfect amount of unhealthy food, a great group of girls, Taylor Swift tunes, and a painting session that left me even more inspired than when I came. I am already dreaming of my next private class, I’m thinking Spring, with a painting chalked full of beautiful, colorful Spring flowers. Who’s with me?
